"Come back to haunt you" nghĩa là gì?

"Come/return back to haunt (someone)" = quay về để ám ai -> cụm từ này nghĩa là theo đuổi ai đó trong hình dạng ma quái hoặc siêu nhiên; (tình huống trong quá khứ, quyết định,... mang tính tiêu cực) tái diễn, gây ra vấn đề cho hiện tại hoặc tương lai; xuất hiện trong ý thức của một người, như một ý nghĩ hoặc ký ức.

Don’t be fooled by the striking rhythm and cheerful title of this song – it’s actually a pleasure to see your ex come back to haunt you after he mistreated (ngược đãi) you and made you realize DGAF.
Great food, social and religious activities, and spending time with family is why so many people enjoy the Christmas season. Too much rich food at the wrong time can come back to haunt you during the night. If you’re overbooked with late night outings (cuộc đi chơi), it’s easier to get away from your normal sleep schedule.
The long-term consequences of unexpected expenses can be severe, too. If you take on credit card debt (nợ tín dụng), you could end up paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars in interest (tiền lãi) alone. And if you tap your retirement fund or postpone saving for retirement to pay for an unexpected expense, that decision could come back to haunt you come retirement age when your nest egg isn't as strong as you'd hoped.
