"Lose the thread" nghĩa là gì?

"Lose the thread" = Mất sợi dây liên lạc, mất dòng/đoạn câu chuyện -> Không thể theo kịp điều ai đang nói hoặc không nhớ điều mình muốn nói tiếp theo.
Ví dụ
The minute that you lose momentum (đà), you lose the thread. You become extremely vulnerable to distraction.
The crowd seemed to lose the thread, as they did during a longer riff about the perils (hiểm họa) and problems of windmills (cối xay gió), long a Trump target.
