"(Open) confession is good for the soul" = Cứ bày tỏ/thổ lộ hết thì sẽ tốt cho tinh thần -> Khi làm điều gì sai thì bạn hãy nói ra là mình đã làm sai để cảm thấy tốt hơn.

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., committee chairman, set the tone early, noting the “dismal (tối tăm, buồn thảm) conditions” at some bases, including Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. He told Barrett, the other service secretaries as well as the military chiefs from the Air Force, Navy, Army and Marines that “confession is good for the soul.”

When asked if he had anything to say, Whitfield replied: “An open confession is good for the soul. I deliberately took the razor from the top of the press while my poor wife was fettling Billy’s breakfast, and I went upstairs and cut my poor darling’s throat after my wife went out.” In brackets, the reporter described the mood in court at this point with a single word: “(Sensation.)” (xúc động mạnh, tin giật gân)

There is an old proverb that "open confession is good for the soul". Recently, it seems that users of social media have taken this message to heart. Every month, news services report on criminals (tội phạm) who have confessed on Facebook. Murder (giết người), rape, (hiếp dâm) theft (trộm cắp) and all manner of socially abhorrent (ghê tởm) behaviour are paraded (phô diễn) on social media.1 Facebook and other social media sites even have "confession pages", which are meant to enable people to share statements, including confessions on an anonymous (nặc danh) basis. Since 2013, many of these pages have gone viral on the internet.
