"Come on (too) strong" = Qúa cứng nhắc/nặng nề -> Rất hiếu chiến/hung hăng; tán tỉnh người ta quá đà/thúc ép; trở nên rất phổ biến.

Ví dụ
"We hope this doesn’t come on too strong, but our landlord won't allow pets, and we've all grown up with animals. The adult life is a struggle without one,” they concluded, signing the pitch "the boys from number 23."

You might be worried this morning, but it will pass quickly. (Especially if you drink a lot of water.) Later in the day, financial issues might concern you. Don’t make a big deal about anything. Take it easy because Mars in your sign can make you come on too strong. Whoa Nellie!

If you have your ex there for the talk, it is my hope that she too will buy in and cooperate in facilitating your visitation as a requirement rather than an option. Feel free to explain to the kids that a court order is not optional for them, meaning their refusal to follow the schedule could be deemed “incorrigible” (không thể sửa được) and subject to juvenile criminal sanctions (trừng phạt tội phạm ở tuổi vị thành niên) if it went that far. Nor is it optional for their mother who could get into serious trouble with the court if she intentionally disobeys the court order. Don’t come on too strong at first, however, or you may push them further away. I just wanted to give you some real legal consequences to their actions to help you if needed.
