"Look daggers at" nghĩa là gì?

"Look daggers (dao găm) at (one)" = nhìn giận dữ, nhìn hầm hầm; nhìn trừng trừng.

Ví dụ
In the stills, Ahn Dan Te and Shin Yeon Hwa look daggers at each other across the meeting room table and fill the room with tension.

“They look daggers at you, and then look sweetly up at the dear little girl in the grandstand (khán đài), and then daggers at you. I mean at me, and by the time they pitch, you, I mean me, are ready to swing at anything.”

In an interview with Mehr News on May 13 the commander of the Iranian Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said “As long as the naval forces (lực lượng hải quân) of the Islamic Republic are protecting its borders (biên giới), the enemies (quân thù, địch) will never dare to even look daggers at the Iranian nation.”
