"There ain't no such thing as a free lunch" = không có bữa ăn trưa nào là miễn phí cả -> cụm từ này nghĩa là không thể có được một cái gì đó mà không phải mất gì cả.

Ví dụ
Local politicians say implementing free fares (tiền xe, tiền vé) is good for the environment and helps low-income riders. It seems like these bureaucrats (quan chức) have never heard of the expression: There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.

The No Free Lunch Theorem (NFLT) is named after the phrase, there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. It has origins in the mid-nineteenth century onwards, whereby bar and saloon (quán rượu) owners would attract drinkers in with free food on the condition that they brought a drink.

You may have heard the phrase “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch,” perhaps in conversation with your parents when they wanted you to get a job. Its acronym—TANSTAAFL—pops up in subreddits like r/Anarcho_Capitalism, on sweatshirts from the politically inclined website LibertyManiacs.com, and as a nerdy economics rap on YouTube. Also: For the first eight years of the Libertarian Party’s existence, TANSTAAFL was its official slogan.
