"Be put in my place" nghĩa là gì?

"Be put in (one's) place" = Đặt đúng cương vị/vị trí của mình -> Buộc phải khiêm nhường/hạ cái tôi or lòng tự trọng mình xuống; ai đó khiến mình cảm thấy bản thân không quan trọng hoặc không đáng được tôn trọng.

Ví dụ
I was bullied myself in the 9th. grade by “in group” kids just because I was the new kid in town and needed to be put in my place I guess.

I was once part of the problem: I remember selectively quoting the poem in my freshman year English class, only to be put in my place by a professor who suggested (nicely) that I should first bother to read the poem and give it a moment of thought before quoting it with misguided confidence.

There comes a time when I need to be put in my place. It happened a few years back when I caught up with a former student at Wintec. I'd met him several years before on his first night on campus at a first year enrolment evening. I always enjoyed meeting new students. Their dreams for the future and aspirations (nguyện vọng) for world fame were always uplifting to hear, even if their world view was somewhat naive.
