"Be put out to grass" nghĩa là gì?

"Be put out to grass" = Cho ai ra rìa, cho ai về vườn -> Ép ai từ chức, nghỉ hưu hoặc xuống làm vị trí cấp dưới.

Ví dụ
LABOUR has come under attack for being “self-serving” and abandoning its “working class support” with its general election plan, with one opposition MEP raging the party needs to be “put out to grass”.

"I will be doing a bit of racing and taking stock, but I don't want to be put out to grass. I am still fairly active and my passion is for the City of York and Yorkshire, if anything comes along I can help with I will be more than happy to do so."

Time is on Roger Federer’s side. At the age of 37, that might sound like a ludicrous (buồn cười, lố bịch) suggestion, but there is no narrative to believe his powers of persuasion (sự thuyết phục) are suddenly about to be put out to grass. Certainly not this summer. And certainly not at Wimbledon.
