She told GMA that some things would be “put to rights, and some things truly are not.” I could not have said it better myself.

The monasteries (tu viện) marked a high point: with their connections to parent orders on the continent, they benefited from a high volume of ‘standardised product, and the international network facilitated exchange and transport’. Their dissolution began a downturn (sự suy sụp) which wouldn’t be put to rights until the 1970s (and it might explain in part why Catholic countries tend to win on the cheese front by sheer variety).

Reporting on the story is, however, apparently some sort of sin, at least in the eyes of Margaret Sullivan at the Washington Post. It’s a “smear.” And this terrible attack on Warren’s honesty (sự thành thật) and credibility (uy tín) must be put to rights one way or another. With that in mind, the author launches into a defense of Warren, opening with the mindboggling (dị thường; không thể tin được) sentence, “A news report can be narrowly factual, and still plenty unfair.”
