"Put it/yourself about" = Quay đầu lại, đi ngược hướng lại; phân tán/chia sẻ tin đồn/thông tin chưa xác thực cho nhiều nơi hoặc nhiều người; ngủ/quan hệ với nhiều người khác nhau.

Ví dụ
“We had heard a couple of things about what they were like, in terms of how they played and some of the stuff that went on afterwards as well. They probably thought if they put it about, we would back down. Well they were certainly barking up the wrong tree with us lot!

“The thing that angers me is that, if I was a man, it [the bad image] would have all ended years ago. If I was Lenny Henry or Angus Deayton or any of the others, but it’s only ever me. I’m not like this slapper, I haven’t put it about. I was engaged twice. I was a relationship girl.”

They’re important, though, because those vehicles are what Rankin County will use to go out and rescue people in the flooding. There are also boats that are being held at different places around the county. Both of those are integral at a time like this because even though they say "put it about don’t drown all the time,” there are still people who try to do make it across flooded roads.
