"Get a whiff of" nghĩa là gì?

"Get a whiff of" = Từng luồng nhẹ/thổi nhẹ -> Chỉ nhận một lượng rất ít/phần nhỏ cái mà mình muốn; nhận ít hoặc vừa đủ thông tin về điều gì.

Ví dụ
Victims from all over Gotham, still smarting from Quinn’s ‘adventures’ with the Joker, get a whiff of the news and start to come after her, knowing she is no longer protected by her ex.

Once the sharks get a whiff of blood, the prey doesn’t stand much of a chance. You can see something similar unfolding in Boeing (NYSE:BA). After the company drew down the entirety of its $13.8 billion loan, the company’s financials became a concern.

We check the ambulance and sign on to our in-car computer, ready to respond. “Coffee?” I ask rhetorically to my work partner, Al, as we leave the station. Before we even get a whiff of beans, the radio calls us for a job. Car 288, we have a 1C breathing difficulties for you. A priority 1 job means lights and sirens. The notes drop down on our screen, a 93-year-old female can’t breathe. Not much information, we respond briskly (nhanh, mạnh mẽ).
