"Play fast and loose" = lập lờ hai mặt; chơi nhanh nhưng không chắc chắn -> Hành động cẩu thả, thiếu suy nghĩ và liều lĩnh trước ai/cái gì.

Ví dụ
The unwillingness of the Leader to discuss the Chief Executive’s absence from work is very worrying from a council leader who has already proved himself willing to play fast and loose with the rules governing appropriate conduct for councillors.

This week, The Namibian reported that Goeiemann ignored the public bidding process and hand-picked a Dubai state-owned company to run the newly built N$4,2 billion Walvis Bay port terminal. He is not the only executive director to flout the very tenets (giáo lý, chủ nghĩa) of good governance and play fast and loose with public funds.

The strange virality of the Corona poll demonstrates that there are ruthless PR flacks who are willing to play fast and loose with the truth. It also shows that there are many journalists at supposedly trustworthy news outlets who are so desperate to rush to publication that they can wind up misinforming their public. (What else is new?)
