"A bit of how's your father" không có nghĩa là hỏi thăm sức khỏe của bố bạn đâu, mà là nói về quan hệ tình dục đó. Nghĩa khác là dương vật.

Ví dụ
He wasn't keen on (quan tâm) a bit of how's your father before the blast (vụ nổ); it's fair to say that his apathy (lãnh đạm) has greatly increased since Mildred slipped most of her skin.

It's not like being a cook (đầu bếp) in a house and having your bit of 'how's your father' with the butler (quản gia). It's not the same with your husband, is it? Legitimate (hợp pháp) fun never seems quite the same somehow, does it? It doesn't to me anyway, maybe I've got the wrong idea on it, but I've known cooks who've had a lot of fun with butlers.

“Divorce (ly hôn) is like killing – after the first time it isn’t so difficult.” At its worst it’s finicky (cầu kỳ, kiểu cách), cardboard nonsense full of signet rings (nhẫn dùng làm ấn) and fine pewter chalices (ly thiếc) that makes a whopping hash (mớ lộn xộn) of history: it seems unlikely that Henry offed Thomas More purely as a bargaining chip (lợi điểm để thương lượng) with his wife for a spot of how’s-your-father, or that Anne would have chosen death by beheading (chém đầu) over the gift of a bijou pad (món nữ trang) in France.
