"Get in(to) a stew" = (thông tục) đứng ngồi không yên, lo âu/hoảng hốt và càu nhàu.

Ví dụ
Sometimes they get in a stew and nothing happens and other times didn't see it coming. It's not the easiest though on the West of Europe.

My feeling is that women should stop being so pathetic (thảm bại, đáng khinh). We cannot have everything our own way: equal pay, year-long maternity leave, seats given up on the Tube, while on the other hand we get in a stew over a fictional bit of nonsense where a woman struggles, tossing her long blonde hair, before getting down and dirty and sighing with pleasure.

They were then reported to have retired together to the Gansevoort Hotel and ordered up ice buckets and towels (wtf?) at 1.30 am. Both denied the claims but the gossip stuck and after much speculation the split announcement has finally come – however Giada didn’t seem too bothered a few days ago. She was spotted enjoying a boozy meal with fellow Food Network star Bobby Flay in Miami after a work event. How long before this amicable (hòa giải, thân tình) split turns sour? Still, lets not get into a stew about it – I’m sure she’s got a great sue chef (see what we did there?)
