I drew winter coats hanging limp on the rack by the front door and hollow gloves stacked palms up on the console in the foyer, like hands outstretched and waiting.

It had burned or chased out five CEOs in five years in a welter of backbiting, near-bankruptcy, stroppy unions, interfering politicians. Things were put back on an even keel by Tony Hall, the ultimate sucker for punishment, who went on to suffer further on the rack at the BBC.

Like St. Pantaleon, many attempts were made at killing them, including releasing them to lions in the Colosseum, but they were miraculously delivered each time. They were eventually put to death on the rack. St. Vitus is invoked against epilepsy (chứng động kinh), paralysis (chứng liệt), and diseases of the nervous system (hệ thần kinh).
