"(One) can hardly/scarcely believe (one's) eyes" nghĩa là những gì vừa chứng kiến thật khó tin.

Ví dụ
When Scott Ballif first pulled up to the Yampa Valley Golf Course he could barely believe his eyes. The first putting practice green he saw would have been more properly called a “putting yellow.”

Then in the 52nd minute, the moment arises. I’ve been playing for set pieces and when Plattenhardt whips in a free kick (đá tự do) towards an unmarked Harry Kane, I can scarcely believe my eyes. But just as I watch the ball sailing past Ederson, the Brazilian jolts up (đấm móc) an arm at the last minute to tip it over. I slam back in my seat with a bang.

Then, out of anxiety (lo lắng), I checked my email. There was a message there. Someone had found my songs on SoundCloud and sent me an email telling me that they loved my songs and to keep up the good work. It couldn’t have come at a better moment. The timing was uncanny (lạ kỳ). I had never gotten an email from anyone about my music before. I could hardly believe my eyes.
