"Follow the golden mean" = làm theo phương pháp vàng -> nghĩa là tuân theo/áp dụng quy tắc chung về sự dung hòa, cân bằng, không nhiều quá cũng không ít quá.
Ví dụ
Many of us are constantly on a diet, minimizing (giảm) our food intake; at home, we minimize our housework; at school, we must minimize our errors (lỗi). We don't follow the golden mean of the acient Greeks or the middle way (trung đạo) of the Buddhists (Phật tử).
I hope that Your Majesty (Đức Vua) will carefully reflect on this earlier incident (sự cố) and not allow the lowborn (người thấp kém) to put the noble (cao quý) to shame, but will follow the Golden Mean by separating slaves and masters.
