“Get shed of” nghĩa là gì?

“Get shed of” có từ shed là ném đi, bỏ rơi, chuyển đi -> cụm từ này nghĩa là loại trừ, bãi bỏ hoặc được tự do/thoát khỏi sự kiềm tỏa.

Ví dụ
More specifically, tell us why you want to get shed of Jefferson, but not the Democrat party he and James Madison founded in 1792?

Along the way (là trong khoảng thời gian điều nào đó đang diễn ra hay trong khi bạn đang làm gì), a deal to get shed of the property (tài sản) short-circuited quickly after a wannabe owner started scrapping material but not making any payments to PGI.

In the homily at his funeral (đám tang), Pastor James Lamkin’s words tell another story. “To be a preacher (người thuyết giáo, giảng đạo) … is not to be on a career path. It is more calling than career. And a calling is hard to get shed of, even if one wanted to. It is more than skin deep. It goes all the way to the bone.” He compares Clay’s calling to that of Jeremiah, describing it as a “collect call.” “There is something like a fire shut up in my bones; and I am weary from holding it in, and I cannot.” Lamkin closed with this thought: “We all feel left behind today … (having been) invited to stand close enough to feel that burn … the fire in the bones.”
