"Lower (oneself) to (some level)" nghĩa là hạ thấp bản thân, khom lưng cúi mình trước hành vi vô đạo đức, không ra gì.
Ví dụ
You should not lower yourself to the level of being sacrificial fodder (thức ăn gia súc) because you are too high a value.
Instead of presuming to raise them up to me like some pedant (nhà thông thái rởm), I lower myself to their level so as to put myself within their reach. What's more, I feel better for it.
