"March in time (with someone or something)" có march là hành quân, diễu hành, đi bộ -> cụm từ này nghĩa là làm theo/giữ đúng nhịp bước với mọi người khi diễu hành.

Ví dụ
Mauculi Zapaktli of Nicaragua keeps the National Day of Mourning march in time with the beat of his drum through the streets of downtown Plymouth on Nov. 22, 2018.

Realising they had no shots in the locker, Victoria’s punishers and straighteners defaulted to protesting the legality of their action and loudly blowing into a giant novelty tuba (kèn tuba mới lạ), which farted out a jaunty oompah (cường tráng vui vẻ) tune they desperately wanted everybody to march in time with.

With its more advanced music, complex routines and many moving parts, marching band requires even more cooperation than a typical musical ensemble (khúc đồng diễn). “Marching band is more than just playing a piece; you have to perform the piece, in a way,” junior and trombone section leader Zachary Sliter said. “It takes more concentration as well because you have to march in time with the music and keep time with your marching.”
