"Without (so much as) a (for or) by your leave" nghĩa là không xin phép, không hỏi xin; một cách thô lỗ.

Ví dụ
It seems almost anything could be said about Alex Salmond without a “by your leave” from the Crown. I saw as flagrant (trắng trợn) a breach (sự vi phạm) as I’ve ever seen in one mainstream media outlet but, hey ho, not a problem for the Crown.

This is a place for parents and families to come and remember the children they have lost. That is heartbreaking enough in itself without being faced with seeing all the tributes removed from each of the individual memorials without a by your leave.

The Queen’s younger grandson may be decamping to North America with his lovely wife and baby but the Queen herself is very much in business; life goes on. It may certainly have been odd, not to say ill advised, for this headstrong couple to have announced their departure from Britain without a by your leave to anyone, including the Queen, but that does seem to be their modus operandi, all the while professing regard for the royal tradition in which they will be raising baby Archie.
