"Meals rejected by the enemy" nghĩa là gì?

"Meals rejected by the enemy" = bữa ăn bị kẻ thù từ chối -> là cách nói hài hước biến tấu từ MRE (Meals Ready-to-use, gói khẩu phần ăn hấp dẫn của quân đội Mỹ), đùa rằng thức ăn rất khó ăn.

Aliga weighed 145 pounds on his 5-foot-8 frame with the Marines (Thủy quân lục chiến). He’s now at 170 pounds. “I was very thin,” he said, laughing that MRE (Meal, Read-To-Eat ) had a better description: ‘Meals Rejected by the Enemy.'”
American troops have been consuming MREs -- "meals ready to eat"-- in combat and training for 35 years. These MREs keep troops alive, but also have given life to some unappetizing (không ngon miệng) nicknames, like "meals rejected by everyone," "meals rarely edible" and "meals rejected by the enemy."
The U.S. military first got to work designing and creating MREs in the 1970s. The food often comes in small individual packages and is designed to last for months or years on the battlefield. Still, many U.S. servicemembers have given MREs a variety of nicknames, including "Meals Rarely Edible" and "Meals Rejected by the Enemy."
Napoleon famously said that an army marches on its stomach. Today, American soldiers live and die on MREs, otherwise known as Meals Rejected by Everyone, Meals Rarely Edible, Meals Rejected by the Enemy or Materials Resembling Edibles. Soldiers have a complicated relationship with their rations (khẩu phần), which they both malign (nói xấu) and fetishize (tôn sùng).
