Locals raced to fill their cars and pick-up trucks with as much free beer as they could when a huge lorry overturned and shed its load all over the road.

The truck carrying thousands of cans of Leo crashed in Rassanda in Phuket, Thailand on Friday and people quickly arrived to "help clear the road".

People were even seen leaving on motorbikes, trying to balance dozens of cans of the Thai-brewed lager.

The accident happened at around 6am when the van overturned in front of a 7-Eleven convenience store.
