"As bald as a coot/egg/billiard ball" nghĩa là đầu trọc lông lốc bình vôi, đầu trọc như cái sọ dừa.

This expression, meaning completely bald, has been around since the 15th century but is unkind and inaccurate. These crane-like birds have a white, featherless frontal plate and this gives the impression of receding hair.
