"The map is not the territory" = bản đồ chưa phải địa bàn đâu -> nghĩa là ai/cái gì hoàn toàn không như những gì người khác đánh giá.

Ví dụ
“The map is not the territory,” Sajith says. While founders usually launch companies out of a deep desire to correct some friction (xích mích), not many of them read the investor's thesis (luận án) and then decide. And that is what differentiates a successful founder like Gaurav Munjal of Unacademy from its competitors.

The Map Is Not the Territory. The map of reality is not reality. Even the best maps are imperfect. That’s because they are reductions (thu nhỏ) of what they represent (đại diện). If a map were to represent the territory with perfect fidelity, it would no longer be a reduction and thus would no longer be useful to us.

One final thought-bomb and a caution: Alfred Korzybski presented the idea that the “map is not the territory”. Put another way, “the description of the thing is not the thing itself … A map is an abstraction (cái nhìn trừu tượng) of reality and reduces (giảm thiểu) complexity of actual terrain to a simplified model which loses nuance and critical context.”
