ANCIENT wisdom has it that a fool at 40 is a fool forever. It is my conviction that Zimbabweans will consign themselves to the pitiable (đáng thương) rank of if they do not get wised-up by the country’s 40th independence anniversary.

I have heard that life begins at 40 and a fool at 40 is a fool forever. It is safe to say that as individuals, we are expected to have amassed some basic life skills, experiences and also attained some degree of accomplishments needed for an enjoyable life before a certain age. But that is not how life works.

It is said that a fool at 40 is a fool forever, sadly this seems to be the part Nigeria is moving towards. Despite turning 40 19 years ago, Nigeria has not seemed to improve but surely this situation will not last forever as Nigeria can bounce back on track by averting the impending economic doom hovering over its head.
