"Hit the town" có "hit" là đi đến một địa điểm đặc biệt = đi lên phố -> cụm từ này nghĩa là đi chơi, đi dạo hoặc mua sắm.

Ví dụ
We hit the town hard last night. We had a lot of fun but today I’m exhausted!

Hundreds of revellers (người thích ăn chơi, rượu chè) hit the town in Newcastle and Leeds for one last night on the tiles (ăn chơi trác táng; xả láng) as the North faces tough coronavirus restrictions.

The middle part of the film snaps the audience back to the present, crucially (chủ yếu) revealing that “Eden” is a popular lecturer and writer named Veronica, who has a gorgeously appointed home and a loving family. She’s great at yoga, a skilled horse-jumper, and loves to hit the town with her two best pals (Lily Cowles and Gabourey Sidibe). After the harrowing (đau lòng) opening, this second act feels both excessively drawn out (kéo dài) and curiously frivolous (ngớ ngẩn), as though Antebellum is merely killing time until, one night, Veronica is kidnapped and wakes up in the “past.”
