Police in Vietnam have confiscated (tịch thu) an estimated 345,000 used condoms which had been cleaned and resold as new.

Footage (cảnh quay) broadcast (truyền hình) by state-owned Vietnam Television (VTV) this week showed dozens of large bags containing the used contraceptives (công cụ tránh thai) scattered across the floor (nằm rải rác trên sàn) of a warehouse (nhà kho) in the southern province of Binh Duong.

...A woman detained (bị bắt giữ) during the bust (sự khám xét, ập vào bắt giữ) told police that the used prophylactics (bao cao su; thiết bị phòng bệnh) were first boiled in water then dried and reshaped (tạo hình) on a wooden phallus (dương vật giả bằng gỗ) before being repackaged and resold.

VTV said it was not clear how many of the recycled condoms had already been sold. The detained woman said she had received $0.17 for every kilogramme of recycled condoms she produced.
