“Groan under the weight of” = rên rỉ dưới sức nặng -> nghĩa là sắp đổ/sụp vì chở cái gì quả tải.

Ví dụ
In the United States, we generate 4.4 pounds of municipal solid waste per person per day. Our planet groans under the weight of what "Laudato Si', on Care for Our Common Home" terms our "disordered desire to consume more than what is really necessary." And our spiritual lives groan under the weight of our selfishness.

To buy so much for one day is obscene (bẩn thỉu, ghê gớm). In many homes there is so much left over that, for the next six weeks, kitchen cupboards groan under the weight of tins of biscuits, boxes of panettone and bags of Brazil nuts.

This isn’t the Pyongyang Post we’re talking about. This is the New York Times, the shelves of which groan under the weight of the Pulitzer Prizes it’s collected over the years. But the dogged pursuit of truth has evidently fallen by the wayside when there’s a “Russian asset” to evict (đuổi, trục xuất) from the White House. Besides, the Times is too busy these days discussing the racial connotations (ý nghĩa, nghĩa rộng) of wearing a mustache (râu mép, ria).
