"If it's yellow, let it mellow" nghĩa là gì?

"If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down" -> phương pháp tiết kiệm nước đối với những nơi có hệ thống ống nước trong nhà; nếu có nước tiểu trong toilet thì đừng xả vội, khi nào có phân hẵng xả.

Ví dụ
The technique is probably best known by the phrase "If it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down." That's right - we are talking about the simple act of refraining (nín nhịn) from flushing the toilet each time you pee (đi tiểu). In our experience, this habit tends to provoke (khơi mào) strong oppinions, either for or against.  Some see it as absolutely second nature (thói quen), and argue that peeing in drinking water is a little obscene (bẩn thỉu) anyway, meanwhile others are inclined to find it revolting (kinh tởm).

The old adage "if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down" remains wise advice. You not only save water while the region remains on level 3 water restrictions, but it also eases (giảm nhẹ) the pressure on the old pipeworks (đường ống).

If it’s yellow, let it mellow – By not flushing for a number one (đi tiểu), you could save 12 litres daily – that’s 36 cups of tea a day and about £15 a year.

We're also asking residents to minimise their wastewater use as we are currently pumping wastewater to sucker trucks while we repair the pipes. For example, it could be shorter showers and washing cycles and if it's yellow let it mellow.
