"Biological clock is ticking" nghĩa là gì?

"Biological clock is ticking" = đồng hồ sinh học đang điểm -> nghĩa là người phụ nữ sắp đến tuổi (quá già) không thể mang thai được nữa.

Ví dụ
How did she get the money? At her age, instead of humbling (hạ thấp) herself so she can get a man to marry, she’s busy throwing lavish (hoang phí) parties. She should better know her biological clock is ticking.

However, I now have my libido (cảm hứng dục tình) back and want sex. I also want kids but my biological clock is ticking very loudly, I need to fall pregnant ASAP. My husband would make a great father but I don’t find him sexually attractive.

My biological clock is ticking – but having children seems an unaffordable luxury (sang trọng). Kids have always been expensive, but insecure housing and jobs markets have made becoming a parent more financially challenging than ever.

Of course it was a man who coined the term. Richard Cohen, now a columnist (người phụ trách) for The Post, wrote a 1978 column in the Metro section about what it’s like to sit across a lunch table with a woman whose biological clock is ticking. “You hear it wherever you go,” Cohen writes.
