"Cakes and ale" nghĩa là gì?

"Cakes and ale" = bánh và bia -> nghĩa là những thú vui đơn thuần; xuất hiện lần đầu tiên trong vở kịch 'Đêm thứ mười hai' của Shakespeare: "Bạn có nghĩ rằng, vì mình có tài, sẽ không còn bánh và bia nữa không?".
Ví dụ
He believes simply that you can surprise or amuse the European or American with cake and ale.
Kids these days think only of cakes and ales—and not of the hard work they need to put in to be successful.
