"Righty tighty, lefty loosey" nghĩa là gì?

"Righty tighty, lefty loosey" = phải chặt, trái lỏng -> nghĩa là cách chơi chữ để ghi nhớ cách để xoay (ốc vít, nắp lọ chai...) dễ hơn. "Lefty" là quay ngược chiều kim đồng hồ và "righty" là quay theo chiều kim đồng hồ.

Ví dụ
One thing that’s important to note: All external nipples (ống nối) turn counterclockwise (ngược chiều đồng hồ) to tighten, opposite of the conventional “righty-tighty, lefty-loosey” wisdom. (If they are hidden inside the rim where you have to take off the tire to get to them, they tighten the normal way.)

Like many people, I’ve made jokes about this possibility over the years, so it’s interesting to see it happening. I may send a query (câu hỏi) out to area high school teachers to see if they notice it. Perhaps we need to switch to that screw-thread (ren vít) mnemonic (giúp ghi nhớ): “righty tighty, lefty loosey.”

Memories of dads are like that. The lessons they teach are for the long term. The knowledge lasts. I still can hear my father tell me such trite (lặp đi lặp lại) carpenter (thợ mộc) things as "measure twice and cut once" or that goofy-sounding screw (đinh vít) and bolt (bu-lông) thing about "righty-tighty and lefty-loosey." Funny, it hasn't sounded so odd in the moments I've actually recited it to myself over the years.
