"Spy out the land" nghĩa là gì?

"Spy out the land" = do thám vùng đất -> nghĩa là tìm ra hoặc hiểu rõ tình huống cụ thể, cách vấn đề tồn tại và tiến triển, trước khi có bất kỳ hành động mang tính quyết định nào.

The Lord gave the command, but the idea to send men to spy out the land seems to have come from the people.
