There's nowt so queer as folk" = "There's nothing as strange as people" -> nghĩa là không có gì lạ bằng con người, nhấn mạnh hành vi kỳ quặc của ai đó. "Nowt" là biến thể của "naught".

Ví dụ
It’s odd. After a day running people who run money, I find it entirely appropriate to sit here in Norway, drinking half-decent burgundy (rượu vang đỏ), while watching your farming videos. As my late Great Aunts were wont to say "There’s nowt so queer as folk"...

Not anymore, I think I've pretty much been labelled everything now, from a Nazi (Đức quốc xã) (because I'm a Brexiteer) to Frankenstein's monster (because I think the wearing of a mask should be choice & not mandatory (bắt buộc))? But hey! ho! there's nowt so queer as folk!

The UK election result is another example of why political analysts (nhà phân tích chính trị) should predict election results with their rational, objective (khách quan) minds and not on the basis of deeply felt subjective (chủ quan) wishes. In the words of my favorite saying, from Yorkshire, there’s nowt so queer as folk.

"So," said the time traveller, "you dress up like other people—"
"Cosplay."
"—or use VR headsets to escape into other worlds. But you take no care of your home."
"A dump like this? Who'd want to?"
"We have an old saying... There's nowt so queer as folk."
