“I'll be blowed” = tôi sẽ bị choáng -> nghĩa là ngạc nhiên hoặc kinh ngạc, đặc biệt mới phát giác ra chuyện gì. Tương tự với các cụm từ “I'll be darned, I'll be hanged, I'll be”.

Ví dụ
WHALE! I’ll be blowed! A 66ft-long, 69 ton dead whale once toured the country on the “longest lorry in the world” which called in at Durham, Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Stockton, York…

Armstrong, who has had prostate cancer (ung thư tuyến tiền liệt) for six years, said he wanted a death which reflected the way he lived his life. "That's full of energy and enthusiasm and love for life. I'll be blowed if I'm stuck in some hospital bed while that happens." In the most heated part of the debate, he told English: "I don't to face a gnarly (xương xẩu, hay càu nhàu/khó tính) end, and have to face it because people like you want to stick your noses in my own choices, thank you."

It was only many years later that those who had been there on the day began to scratch their heads and think "Well I'll be blowed! Maybe Mad Dick Pearse was onto something after all." Thus both the date and the distance Pearse flew rely on the memories of a few elderly and not altogether quick-witted witnesses, but there is at least some evidence that suggests March 1903 as the likely date. Although he built two more flying machines, Pearse faded into obscurity (sự khó hiểu, mờ mịt), a backyard tinkerer and locally famous eccentric (lập dị, quái gở) almost until the day he died in 1953.
