Not because I sympathize with the hapless (không may), strictly-from-hunger telemarketers (bán hàng qua điện thoại), mind you (if they're that desperate for work, armed robbery is an honorable trade), but because abusing them is a waste of your time. It's the 21st century—let robots do the abusing, so you can get back to organically human activities like dipping things in ranch dressing and popping bubble wrap.
Either this is the lamest Mel Brooks comedy ever or it’s too close to other contenders (đối thủ) to make much difference. A major liability (trở ngại) is straight-hunk-turned-aging-lampoon (đả kích)-hero Leslie Nielsen as the count, if only because double Bruce Barbour seems to get almost as much screen time as Nielsen himself, which leads to a lot of choppy continuity. The set decoration has a certain charm, and so does Brooks’s uninhibited silliness, but, you should excuse the expression, most of the gags (miếng hài) are strictly from hunger.
This emphasis on latex and computer graphics makes sense, given the involvement of the Brothers Strause, Colin and Greg, who have done special effects on 60-some movies but directed just two, “Skyline” and the 2007 “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.” Elsewhere they’ve scrimped (bủn xỉn): the actors are from television (Eric Balfour of “Haven,” Scottie Thompson of “Trauma,” Donald Faison of “Scrubs,” David Zayas of “Dexter”), and Joshua Cordes and Liam O’Donnell’s screenplay is strictly from hunger.
