"Us and them" = chúng ta và bọn họ -> nghĩa là miêu tả nhận thức về quan hệ đối đầu giữa hai nhóm (quyền lực).

Also ironic because it was in part Made in Chelsea, by glamorising “how the other half live”, that led to the culture of Instagram and influencers that has forever blurred the line between “us” and “them”.

We stop asking for more time. And we start building a real plan for transformation. And we realise that there is no ‘us’ and ‘them’. There is an ecology (sinh thái học) that is interdependent whether we like it or not, and that interdependence is central to our survival. We learn a new language for taking care of each other. We plan ahead for the next pandemic. That’s the story I want to hear from now on.

Have you noticed how much of our lives is structured around the notion of “us and them”? We bind ourselves to one group and “other” everyone else. The “others” are often deficient (kém cỏi, bất tài) in some way. In our minds, they don’t “get it”, and so they become the problem we need to overcome. The “us”, on the other hand – yes, we may have challenges (not many, though!) but, even when a challenge arises, the benefit of the doubt is always given and we seek to move forward with the same compassion that we would want for ourselves. We just have to look around to see multiple examples of these “us and them” stand-offs: whether it is on social media, in our workplaces, with cross-sector colleagues or, indeed, with our government.
