"Port out, starboard home" nghĩa là gì?

"Port out, starboard home" -> nghĩa là vị trí ngồi của người giàu trên tàu thủy (để hưởng nắng) khi đi và về từ Ấn Độ đến Anh.

On the return journey, the right - or starboard (mạn phải) side - was considered best option, so the saying was “Port out, starboard home”, which was shortened to “posh”.
Two rules of grammar are certain: never split an infinitive and never end a sentence with a preposition. As for the origins (nguồn gốc) of words, it is universally known that the origin of posh is from ships’ tickets to and from India stamped ‘Port Out, Starboard Home’.
"Port" and "starboard" also give us the acronym "posh" – port out, starboard home – the preferred cabin sides for colonials (thực dân) travelling between England and India.
