He and Mrs Parry recognise in each other “two restless (không ngừng) fools, waiting for a miracle when the age of miracles is past”. What they find is a Christ-like boy who is able to heal cholera (bệnh tả), change self-centred attitudes, and set people singing again. It transforms them. The village floods with sightseers; hope returns.
I had a discourse (thuyết trình) with someone sometime ago, and out of her frustration she said "The age of miracle is Past". She Marshaled her points specifically relating to her numerous family, marital and personal issues that has defiled all prayers and efforts etc. I was at a fix. I saw the obvious in her story and reasonings.
If the age of Miracles is past, no one could be born again today, because the new birth is the greatest miracle a person can experience!
Anyone who claims that the age of miracles is past denies (từ chối) the need, privileges, and the benefits of prayer. For God to hear and answer prayer, whether the petition is for an open door or for the healing of a paralytic, is a miracle!
