"Call a/the meeting to order" -> nghĩa là thông báo cuộc họp sắp bắt đầu.
Ví dụ
At times the meeting got contentious, causing Board Chair Patrick Canan to use his gavel at least three times to call the meeting to order.
“Can I interrupt and call a meeting to order for a second?” she asked. “The intent of this, I believe, is maybe not appropriate for an online stream of questioning. I think Councilmember Shaff could maybe give a call to Ms. Broncucia-Jordan. I think we’ve already put her through enough.”
We need change in Madison. People's basic needs, such as wages, affordable housing, health care that covers everyone, clean water, our parks and public schools, our roads, working to get people out of prison instead of in, all need to be addressed. We also need elected representatives that are not just going to pound the gavel and call a meeting to order, and a couple minutes later pound the gavel (cái búa) to adjourn (hoãn lại). This shows no respect for the people who live in this state, as well as no respect or willingness to work to solve the issues that affect people on a daily basis.
