Liam Halligan decries the on-going appalling failure of the media to report reasonably on Covid-19. A slice:

A major problem is the mindless (đơn giản, không cần động não; thiếu suy xét, dại dột) fixation (sự ngừng phát triển trí óc) of our political and media class on the absolute number (số tuyệt đối) of Covid cases recorded, in the absence of vital context (thiếu bối cảnh quan trọng) relating to the number of tests conducted (số lần xét nghiệm tiến hành) and the link with hospitalisations (nhập viện) and deaths (tử vong). Yes, we’re registering around 50,000 daily Covid cases – levels last seen in January. But the UK is now conducting way over twice as many tests each day as back then. We should focus, instead, on the share of tests that are positive, a far more indicative measure of the true extent of Covid.
