A woman waiting for help after her car was struck in Queens wound up getting shot in the leg during a crazed clash (xung đột) between rival (đối thủ) tow truck companies (công ty cứu hộ xe oto).

“I’m lucky that bullet (viên đạn) didn’t take my life,” Susy Delgado told the Daily News. “I don’t know what this world is coming to.”

Delgado, 48, called 911 after a speeding Range Rover slammed into her parked car at Sutter Ave. and 77th St. in Ozone Park on Saturday night, she said. But before police arrived, workers from two different tow truck companies showed up, each hoping to hook her badly damaged car.

Delgado hadn’t called either tow company, but believes they heard of the crash (vụ đâm xe) by listening (nghe trộm) to police scanners.
