"Finger on the button" nghĩa là gì?

"Finger on the button" = ngón tay trên nút bấm -> nghĩa là người có khả năng phóng vũ khí hạt nhân. Cụm từ này nói về khả năng gây ra chiến tranh hạt nhân, ám chỉ Tổng thống Mỹ và các nước láng giềng cũng có vũ khí hạt nhân.
Ví dụ
In a U.S. presidential election campaign (chiến dịch), voters are sometimes asked the question, “Do you really want that person to have their finger on the button?” That is a way of saying the candidate (ứng cử viên) cannot be trusted.
“On the contrary (mặt khác), he has shown himself time and again to be easily baited and quick to lash out, dismissive of expert consultation and ill-informed of even basic military and international affairs — including, most especially, nuclear weapons,” the letter says. “Donald Trump should not be the nation’s commander-in-chief (tổng tư lệnh). He should not be entrusted (tin tưởng) with the nuclear launch codes. He should not have his finger on the button.”
During the campaign, 10 former US nuclear launch officers, who once manned missile silos and held the keys necessary to execute (thực hiện) a launch order, signed a letter saying Trump should not have his “finger on the button” because of his temperament.
