hơn 40 con lạc đà bị loại khỏi cuộc thi sắc đẹp tổng giải thưởng trị giá 49 triệu bảng ở Saudi vì đã botox, nâng mặt, uống hormone tăng cơ bắp... :D
-----
More than 40 camels (con lạc đà) have been disqualified (bị loại, bị tước quyền dự thi) from a Saudi beauty pageant (cuộc thi sắc đẹp) after dozens of the animals were given Botox, face lifts (căng da mặt) and muscle-boosting hormones (hormone tăng cơ bắp).
The beauties were booted (bị đá) in one of the biggest ever crackdowns at the Abdulaziz Camel Festival where breeders (người chăn nuôi) compete for some £49 million in prize money.
Judges (ban giám khảo, trọng tài) at the festival, hosted in the desert (sa mạc) northeast of the capital Riyadh, said this year they are using 'specialised (chuyên dụng) and advanced' technology to detect nip and tuck (phẫu thuật thẩm mĩ).
Cheaters (kẻ gian lận) use the cosmetic procedures to dupe (đánh lừa) the judges who hand out prizes based on the shape of the camels' heads, necks, humps (bướu), dress and postures.
This year, authorities discovered dozens of breeders had stretched out the lips and noses of camels, used hormones to boost the beasts' muscles, injected (tiêm) camels' heads and lips with Botox to make them bigger, inflated (bơm phồng) body parts with rubber bands (dây cao su) and used fillers to relax their faces.
...The extravaganza seeks to preserve the camel's role in the kingdom's Bedouin tradition and heritage, even as the oil-rich country ploughs ahead with modernising (hiện đại hoá) mega-projects.
Camel breeding is a multi-million-pound industry and similar events take place across the region
