Indonesia’s anti-drugs (chống ma túy) agency has proposed (đề xuất) building a prison (nhà tù) on an island (hòn đảo) guarded by crocodiles (cá sấu) to hold death row convicts (tội phạm tử hình), an official said, an idea that wouldn’t be out of place in a James Bond film.
The proposal (đề xuất) is the pet project (dự án) of anti-drugs chief Budi Waseso, who plans to visit various parts of the archipelago (quần đảo) in his search for fierce reptiles (bò sát hung dữ) to guard the jail.
“We will place as many crocodiles as we can there. I will search for the most ferocious (hung dữ) type of crocodile,” he was quoted as saying by local news website Tempo.
Waseso said that crocodiles would be better at preventing drug traffickers (những kẻ buôn ma túy) from escaping prison as they could not be bribed (mua chuộc) — unlike human guards.
