A Collier County man’s target practice (mục tiêu thực hành) went horribly wrong (sai lầm khủng khiếp) on Monday when deputies say he shot a woman who was sitting at her dining room table (bàn trong phòng ăn).
Juan Arreguin, 41, is charged with one count of shooting a missile (tên lửa) into a dwelling and one count of discharging (xả) a firearm (súng) in public (ở nơi công cộng).
Around 12:20 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a woman with a possible gunshot wound.
The 21-year-old victim (nạn nhân) appeared to have injuries (bị thương) to her right arm and right side. She told deputies that she was sitting at the dinner table, which is next to a window, when there was a loud crash (va chạm) at the window and she felt something strike her right arm and side.
Deputies discovered a hole (lỗ) in the window adjacent to where the woman was sitting and a bullet on the floor, 8-10 feet away from her. The woman told deputies that right before she was injured she heard gunshots (phát súng) coming from the home behind her property.
The woman was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released.
