Cảnh sát bắt được con chuột say xỉn sau khi nó uống hết 60 chai rượu lậu

A rat has been nabbed (bị bắt quả tang) by the police for guzzling down (nốc cạn, ăn uống sạch) 60 bottles of illegal booze (rượu lậu) in a wild drunken spree (buổi chè chén).
The thirsty rodent (loài gặm nhấm) was caught on camera hopping around a cage (cái lồng), surrounded by the empty bottles it had been sipping from. The Kotwali police in Chhindwara district, India, had to set a trap (bẫy) after noticing that dozens of alcohol bottles, meant to be used as court evidence (bằng chứng trước tòa), had been drained (cạn sạch).

Despite their efforts, they only managed to capture one rat, who now takes the blame.

Now, the police are left scratching their heads (vò đầu bứt tai) about what to present in court as evidence against the person they seized the alcohol from. The local police station and warehouse have become a haven (nơi ẩn náu) for rats, who also target items like seized cannabis (ma túy) stored in sacks.

To combat this, the police have started storing cannabis in iron tin boxes and keeping files (hồ sơ) out of reach (xa tầm với) of the pesky rodents (loài gặm nhấm đáng ghét).

It follows news that rowdy raccoons (gấu mèo) with a taste for beer and a knack (mánh khóe) for breaking into homes are setting up home in Britain in increasing numbers.

The mammals - native to North America and which have a bandit-style black stripe across their eyes - were first spotted in the UK in the 1970s after being released by pet owners.

Despite this, a number of raccoons have been spotted in England, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The number of critters - which are often spotted drunk after fridge raids - has soared.
