"I was blind but now I see” nghĩa là 'tôi đã mù, nay tôi nhìn thấy', 'tôi từng mù quáng, nay tôi đã hiểu', một câu trong 'Amazing Grace' (Ân điển diệu kỳ) của Kinh thánh.

I Was ‘Blind’, But Now I See: Lamu Man Speaks After Life Changing Surgery (phẫu thuật thay đổi cuộc đời).
After Communion (lễ kỷ niệm bữa ăn tối của Chúa; lễ ban thánh thể), Father Lee noted that he had written a book, compiled (bao gồm) from his homilies (bài thuyết pháp; những lời thuyết lý đạo đức nghe chán tai, những lời dạy đời buồn tẻ), talks and reflections, titled “I Was Blind but Now I See,” from John 9:25 and inspired by the bas-relief in front of that church’s ambo, showing Jesus curing the man born blind. The priest explained that “the Word of God opens the eyes of the soul.”
Using metaphor of blindness to sight is common throughout human history, because everyone understands what it means to open your eyes. It suggests not just a change in the ability to sense light, but a step change in how we think. “I was blind but now I see” is in the bible (kinh thánh), a metaphor (ẩn dụ) for seeing a spiritual truth (sự thật tâm linh), being able to reckon with (coi ai/cái gì là quan trọng; tính toán đến) the profundities of reality (sự sâu sắc của thực tế).
So the Pharisees returned to the man and tried to trick him into admitting that Jesus was a sinner. But he stuck to the facts: “One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see” (v. 25). In frustration, the Pharisees finally snapped: “You are this fellow’s disciple (tông đồ)! We are disciples of Moses! We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where He comes from!” (vs. 28-29). But the healed man pointed out, “We know that God does not listen to sinners…. If this man were not from God, He could do nothing” (vs. 31-33). Well, the Pharisees didn’t want to hear any more from HIM, so they tossed him out of the synagogue. But for the healed man, the story has a happy ending. He met Jesus again, who told him that He was the Son of Man—the promised Savior of the World. Immediately, the formerly-blind beggar believed that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of the living God. He was saved.
