Researchers (nhà nghiên cứu) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed a multivitamin-sized capsule (thuốc viên hòa tan) that tricks the stomach into thinking it is full.
In animal experiments, pigs that took the pill 20 minutes before eating consumed 40 percent less food on average compared to a control group.
The device is yet to enter human trials (thử nghiệ), but the researchers say it had a 'profound' (sâu sắc) effect on appetite (độ thèm ăn) and could offer a way to 'lose weight or control appetite'. They say it also lacked side effects like nausea (nôn mửa) and vomiting, which are seen in Ozempic.
